Resources for Stress Management and Coping

In this post, we’ve collected a few links to resources designed to help with anxiety, coping, and stress management for all family members.

This resource, from our UCSF Psychiatry website, provides a wealth of information. The website is robust and covers a variety of topics, from discussing COVID-19 with children to how to set children up to thrive while sheltering in place. Available in multiple languages.

Next we have Zero to Thrive recommendations for Helping Young Kids Through the Coronavirus Crisis. It covers behaviors you might see as a parent in this situation, and provides recommendations for working through the various challenges.

And what about teens? There are resources for them, as well. GritX provides a variety of activities for teens and young adults. The activities aren’t Coronavirus-specific, and it might actually be nice to get a breather from that. However, they are well-designed to support self-reflection, self-care, and the cultivation of resilience.

Finally, here is a guide from The National Child Traumatic Stress Network: Parent/Caregiver Guide to Helping Families Cope With the Coronavirus Disease 2019.
